s.v. JoAnne

Built in 1936 as a lapstrake sloop with a center board, by an unknown boat builder, she sailed on Lake Ontario for over 50 years. In 1999, during a violent wind storm, a large oak tree fell on her causing terrible damage. Her repair was beyond my wood working skills but I knew I wanted to save her. In 2000, I began searching for a craftsman who would be willing to take on the immense task of bringing her back to her prime. Taking a family sailing one fine weekend, I met and learned of Joel's passion for restoring old wooden boats! Something told me he was my man, so I made him an offer, I would give him JoAnne if he would work his magic on her. Well in 2005 after several years of work, our friend Joel accomplished a total and masterful restoration.
